What should I do if I took medicine before knowing I was pregnant?
Do not panic — take the packet to your provider so the actual risk can be assessed.
Most common medicines taken early do not cause harm. What matters is which medicine, how much, and at what stage of the pregnancy.
Bring the box, packet or a photo of the label to your clinic so your provider can advise you properly and record it in your notes.

- Keep the packet or a photo of the label
- Tell your provider at your next visit, or sooner if worried
- Do not stop chronic treatment on your own
